Founded in 1945 and have been registered as a charity since 1962. In 2002 we were awarded a Royal Charter.

As the largest health and safety membership organisation in the world, IOSH has more than 44,000 individual members in over 100 countries.

The National Association of Safety Professionals is a non-profit membership organization providing training, consultative services, and third-party certifications that validate knowledge, skills and abilities in the area of workplace safety. The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) is the United States Division of the non-profit International Association of Safety Professionals (IASP). We currently have approximately 10,000 members with a client list (members, former members, and trainees) of approximately 30,000.

The primary mission of the National Association of Safety Professionals is to provide safety professionals with innovative training opportunities and certification to assist them in carrying out their safety related functions with confidence while assuring a high level of competence.

The NASP was formed in 2000 by a group of safety professionals. These men and women were safety trainers, consultants, and safety directors who wanted to provide cost effective workplace safety training and consulting to business and industry. The founders also desired to provide professional credentials to safety professionals who were largely self-taught, trained on the job, or educated by independent study. Today our roles include people from every background: from those trained and educated unconventionally to those holding safety related PHDs; from the part-time safety committee member to the international corporate safety director.

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health. We set standards, accredit courses and qualifications for the education of members and EHPs.

We provide information, evidence and policy advice to local and national government, environmental and public health practitioners in the public and private sectors.

As an Awarding Organisation, we provide over 60 certification qualification programmes which include food safety, health and safety, first aid, fire safety and environmental protection through a through a global network of over 10,000 registered trainers and training centres. We support our trainers and centres with events and training materials to ensure our qualifications are delivered to the highest standard.

As a campaigning organisation, we aim to promote improvements in environmental and public health policy. We are based in the UK with offices in London, Wales and Northern Ireland. We also operate in the USA, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.

The trading arm of the CIEH is a wholly owned trading subsidiary which is charged with promoting the mission of the CIEH through trading activities. The profits are gift-aided to the CIEH to support the charitable objectives. Conferences, seminars and a comprehensive range of public health publications are organised by this side of the CIEH.

The CIEH also supports and runs the Institute of Food Safety, Integrity & Protection (IFSIP), which is a new membership organisation connecting all those who work to keep food safe, honest and healthy. It is built around sharing knowledge and insight to promote high standards of professional practice and new ways of working. It operates under the CIEH’s charitable objectives.
